The Client is a specialist information and statistics supplier to the horse racing and bloodstock industry.

The objective was to create an on-line database of racing results which is automatically updated each day from a multitude of data feeds from around the world.

The clients customers purchase subscriptions and receive performance statistics and reports on their chosen horses as and when new data is available The reports can be supplied via the web, email or mobile phone.

Microsoft Access was chosen as the database platform after considering the volume of data involved, software license cost and the need to easily integrate with ASP and IIS. Data Maintenance programs were written in Winbatch, a very rapid application development language, using ADO to remove the need to actually run the Access program.
